Mackie writes:

My sensible friend who may be a dog trainer offered me his five year old Belgian Malinois for adoption. He's trained as a protection dog therefore he can guard his master, bite on command, unleash the bite on command, keep until released and others. He includes a trophy as third placer in Level one protection in an exceedingly protection dog competition. I have two dogs at gift: A one year-recent and a nine month-old Labrador... both are females, obedience trained and not neutered.

I would love to adopt him and I recognize I will take care of him. Can he accept me when being my friend's favorite dog for five years? My friend assured me that he will transfer the loyalty of the dog to me. He may be a fierce dog when in competition but a very quiet dog when outside the training ring. Of course my friend brings the dog with him continuously and I understand of many occasions {that the} dog is off leash. He is giving him up as a result of he needs to interchange him with a younger dog.

Should I take him up on his provide?

Expensive Mackie:

Yes... the dog will transfer his loyalty to you.

Here are two major problems you must take into account before adopting this dog:

1. The Belgian Malinois (especially one that is bred and trained for bite work and protection dog sports) will require a ton of work ON YOUR PART to learn how to handle this dog. You are going to want a lot of training... one-on-one style... to successfully integrate this dog into your life. It's like driving a Ferrari or a race car. The automobile already runs nice, however if you do not learn the proper approach to drive it, you will end up killing yourself. And simply as a result of you already understand a way to drive a Subaru doesn't cut it... we're talking Ferrari, here. And also the Belgian Malinois is a Ferrari with the tricked out Turbo engine.

2. The breed is an extremely HIGH DRIVE breed. This dog desires TONS of exercise and mental stimulation. TONS. Please take the time to acknowledge that adopting this dog will be a serious responsibility.

If you decide to try to to it, and you're successful, you may have an amazing companion. The breed is kind of healthy and you'll be able to be content in knowing that you simply own a KING OF KINGS as far as working dogs are concerned.

Half of me has invariably wanted what you are pondering getting. But my lifestyle and dedication to the exercise and coaching necessities are something I do not have at this current point in my life.

P.S. Make sure {that the} dog is not dog aggressive before you decide to take ownership.

That is all for now, folks!

If you have a puppy or are thinking about getting one it is important to know how to care for your puppy. The result of good puppy care is a healthy, well adjusted and well behaved dog.

1. Feeding

You should get your puppy after it has been weaned, so feeding your pup will be a relatively simple procedure. You should feed him puppy food three times a day until he is 12 weeks old. Make sure you buy food formulated for puppies and you buy food for the correct size breed. Make sure to give him the correct one! Use the manufacturer's guidelines when you work out food portion sizes.

From 12 weeks only feed your pup twice a day. Again, follow manufacturer guidelines for portion sizes. It is a good idea to only leave his bowl on the floor for 15 minutes before taking it away. This will teach him to eat his food at specific times (morning and evening).

Always make sure your puppy has fresh water.

2. Vaccines & Parasites

It is very important to get your puppy the proper vaccinations. Take him to the vet as soon as you bring him home and the vet will tell you what and when your puppy should receive. The first vaccination should be administered at around 6-8 weeks and then regularly (around every 3-4 weeks) until he is 20 weeks old. Thereafter annual boosters will be sufficient.

He should also get treatment for heartworm, intestinal worms and standard flea and tick treatments.

3. Grooming

Grooming your pup is vital. Grooming is not just about cleaning him up or preventing nasty infections. It is the time when pup and owner bond and is crucial for developing the owner-dog relationship.

Grooming differs between different breeds. For instance, long hair breeds will need brushing and untangling their hair regularly. Breeds with large, hanging ears will need their ears cleaned. Breeds with folds of skin on their faces or bodies will need the folds cleaned.

Make sure before choosing the breed of your puppy that you know what kind of grooming the breed requires!

4. Exercise & Training

You HAVE to exercise your puppy daily. He needs it to develop strong muscles, bones and internal organs. Just don't overdo it. A good rule of thumb is to use your puppy's age in weeks to calculate the maximum amount of minutes in an exercise session. So if your puppy is 20 weeks old, don't exercise him for more than 20 minutes at a time.

Keep this up until he is one year old, after which time you can exercise him as much as you want. He will always want more!

Training your puppy from an early age is crucial as well. It will be a lot easier to train your pup when he is young. You do not want a large adult dog doing what it wants and not listening to you! Training can involve basic things like house training, or basic commands like sit, stay, down, etc.

If you are unsure about anything regarding your puppy, always ask a vet. They are your best source for puppy advice and health information and will be happy to help.

Wonder what that thing which looks a lot like your pillow at home, but looks more comfortable and beautiful than it is? Well, it is called a shih tzu puppy.
Mustang windscreen windblocker wind deflector windstop

These cute little pup's homeland is believed to be Tibet. But they were largely brought up in China as a toy dog for young females and kids. Often reffrerd to as the "small lion", a shih tzu puppy will often has a nice blend of colors around its torso.
BMW Z4 windscreen windblocker wind deflector windstop

Hardly even 1 foot tall these puppies are mostly grown up in door and will not require a much exercising either. This relatively lower built however does not mean that they are as dull and boring as the usual other toy dogs, in fact they are considered as a very active member in that group. Acting with a noble posture, these proud little puppies will not even bother a penny about their size. It is believed that these dogs are comparatively intelligent to some of their closely related breeds such as Yorkies.
Chrysler Crossfire windscreen windblocker wind deflector windstop

Immense care and grooming would be the most annoying factor in petting a shih tzu puppy. It is a must that the conditions they live in are not hot and humid. The heavy cover of hair on them will make them more disease prone if not cleaned and bathed regularly.

Their stubborn behaviors will at times get over their brains and will tend to ignore what the master’s orders. This will make it double harder to train them at home.

A smaller garden would be ideal for a shih tzu puppy to carry out its daily workouts. Outdoor playing is one thing they love the most.

Petting a shih tzu puppy will require not just a basic knowledge about the breed because of the extra attention required in many aspects. Make an online research prior to buying one and educate yourself on the needs and necessities is of such breed. Next step would be to find the nearest place for you to buy one or adopt one. This is also possible through the interent. Just by searching your required breed you can get results of thousands of shih tzus in your area. Get a shih tzu puppy and let him change the whole perspective in your house, and make it a happier place to live.

Are you planning on buying a puggle to your home? They can be quite a handful for the owner if purchased. Even if you fall in love with the puggle the moment you set your eyes on it, it is better to find out some information about the puggle as well as the puggle breeders.
Mustang windscreen windblocker wind deflector windstop

There are so many puggle breeders who are in the business just for the money it brings. Puppy mills and dog farms are places where pets are treated in an unhealthy way. Knowing where your pet came from is very important. Some people may think that it does not matter from where the pet came from as long as it will be treated well in the new owners’ home. Unfortunately this is not the truth. A dog’s first few years are crucial for its development.
BMW Z4 windscreen windblocker wind deflector windstop

Puggle breeders who carry out dog farms and puppy mills treat their puppies in a different way from puggle breeders who do it at home. Most puppies that are born and brought up in dog farms live in cages and stay away from human companionship for quite a long time. Love and kindness are feelings not familiar with them. Since these puggle breeders breed their pets in farms, etc, the puggle’s lack emotional communication with humans. In addition to all these, they are likely to end up with different behavioral problems.
Chrysler Crossfire windscreen windblocker wind deflector windstop

A lot of puggle breeders in dog farms do their job as a business, to earn a good profit. The profit is gained at the expense of innocent dogs. If you have no idea about this type of puggle breeders but decide to purchase a dog from such a place, you’d only be contributing to their suffering. This suffering is not only for the pet you decide to buy, but also for their mother. Puggle breeders are happy when puggles from their dog farm or mill are sold. So when the sales rise, it gives way for more breeding.

But there are also puggle breeders who do it as a humane business, not solely for the profit it makes. They are people who will take care of the puggles and make sure they will bring happiness to whoever who decides to buy them.

Shelters and city pounds in United States of America is becoming densely populated with many homeless dogs. Many of these dogs are taken in to these sheltering centers with no loving care or intension to do a favor for them, but instead to make sure that the streets are free from any homeless dogs. Thousands of pups will be spending the rest of their lives inside those walls without any home and have you thought about adopting a puppy?
Mustang windscreen windblocker wind deflector windstop

Many Americans will spend thousands of dollars to own a puppy to fulfill their desire to have them cuddling on to you. With all the calibers and breeds to choose from all those pet shops, have you ever considered the method of adopting a puppy without spending a penny?? This way it is a win-win situation for both the puppy and you.
BMW Z4 windscreen windblocker wind deflector windstop

These puppies across all of USA are spending a miserable life in these prison like shelters. It is not because they have done anything wrong to us, but because they just cannot walk on this land that freely like man does. Because they were born as dogs it is assured that they will have to go through this once they are homeless. This is why instead of ‘buy a puppy’ the concept of ‘adopt a puppy’ should come to terms with many puppy lovers.
Chrysler Crossfire windscreen windblocker wind deflector windstop

You can save a puppy's life by adopting it? These innocent animals need your help, they will be ever so happy to live a proper life. Now you can easily find a puppy nearby you for adaptation. Adopt a puppy in your area just by giving your requirements to an online website which then will help you find the perfect puppy for you. Go through all the photos of puppies and select the one which most adorable for you. Search for the breed, color, sex and also the age.
You can save a puppy's life by adopting it?

When the owner terms the dog as bad, perhaps they should look at their own behavior. It is frustrating when a dog simply jumps on your clean clothes as you are taking a walk down the road. This can also happen when the dog next door leaves his tell tale marks on your front yard. Just like the kid next door who has not been taught any manners, these dogs can be compared to them.

What is wrong with the kids or the pet when the concerned adults are not doing their duties? Sensible owners take the help of dog trainers who teaches them proper handling methods without breaking the natural spirit. Either you contact your vet office or pet store to get to meet a trainer or seek online help from a dog training book or from online dog training tips and tackle your pet problem before it goes out of hand. This training could teach owners how to be in command of their pets.

Many times trainers comment that dogs are easier to train than their owners. When you want the dog to be leash trained, make them practice in a small area away from other distractions. Owner and other residents get irritated when these animals bark even if it is a typical occurrence. Shouting or punishing your pet for engaging in this normal communication is counterproductive - as well as confusing to the animal.

So why does a dog bark?
Often, dogs bark because they lack attention or need food and water. The noise of a dog barking can alarm the owners of a burglar intrusion so attempting to stop him from doing this may work against you. It is not a good idea having your puppy bark, even during play if you are likely too shout at him when he barks as an adult. You could learn from your trainer how to reinforce certain behaviors in a puppy, which you desire, by giving them the occasional gift for being good.

How do you make your new puppy stop the undesired behavior?
Well, simply learn to reward your new puppy when he does something which is 'desired' behavior. Most important to note: you can not expect a dog to learn certain behaviors which are against his genetic behavioral pattern. In case you are particular about teaching your pet some specific behavioral skills, you should choose one from the breed which would provide you with the type of traits you are searching for.

When does a dog become good?
Good dogs are developed by patience, persistence and kindness.

The guidelines for raising a mastiff are pretty much the same as raising any other breed of dog; they need to be trained from young, have a good exercise routine, a good diet and must be groomed and cleaned regularly. Mastiffs can be by nature a very lazy breed and are very comfortable lying by the couch all day, every day. Because of this it is important that you teach your mastiff from a pup and give your mastiff a good routine. Their tendency of laziness is why Mastiff training should be very firm.

You can start your exercise routine by walking your mastiff at least twice a day, to keep his naturally large build from becoming overweight. If you have a private yard, letting your mastiff walk around for a bit is an excellent source of exercise. If you live in an apartment or other area without a private yard, it is recommended that you walk your mastiff twice a day in the nearest dog-friendly area.

Mastiffs are big dogs and require a regular diet of quality dog food to maintain good health. Mastiff puppies should be fed roughly four times a day after they’ve been weaned onto puppy food. As your mastiff grows, you can gradually reduce the amount of times you feed him to once or twice a day. Usually there will be a set of guidelines on the package of the dog food that tells you how much food your dog should receive in one serving based on weight.

Grooming a mastiff is generally a very easy process, since they are short-haired. They are natural shedders (watch out in the spring time!), so you don’t have to work so hard when you brush them. They do have natural oils in their coat to help protect their skin, to take extra care not to over-wash your mastiff; about once a month should work nicely.

Although they are very large, mastiffs are a gentle breed and can be very wonderful pets if taken care of properly. They have a wonderful attitude towards children, but naturally their size may not make great pets if your child is very young and can easily get knocked over by a grown mastiff. There are many different types of mastiffs, some of the most popular being bull mastiffs, English mastiffs, and American mastiffs. If you decide to introduce a mastiff into your home, you won’t be sorry!
