Whining seems to be a part of some canine's behavior. Most dog owners do not really know why their dogs are whining. And therefore, they do not understand how they can stop their canine from whining. Keeping your dog from whining really is not that hard. In order to do so you will have to figure out the cause.
Fear and discomfort causes some dogs to whine. Some dogs just can't stand to be left alone. This causes them to whine. This behavior just needs some training. As the owner, you can train your dog by leaving it alone at a room after you play with it. You have to make sure that it is comfortable before you leave him. As expected, it will cry or whine when you do that. Let a little time pass and then calmly come back. You can repeat the training until the time comes that it is comfortable in being alone. This may take some time but this will help to stop the dog from whining. If it does a good job during the training, do not forget to give it a reward.
Sometimes, dogs whine to get attention. Your pet could be whining because it is hungry. Maybe, your dog wants to play or spend time with you. In order to solve this problem, you just have to give your dog the attention it needs. Don't let your canine dictate what you do. You do not need to play with your dog every time he wants to. He does not need to be fed when he "thinks he is hungry". You just have to give time to your dog. Allot some time for you to play, walk and do things together with your dog. Schedule its meals and do not forget these schedules. In this way, you get some bonding time with your pet and you are able to stop your dog from whining.
If your dog does not usually whine and then suddenly does so, it is possible that it is sick or in pain. Seeing the vet sooner than later is would probably be a good decision. Do not attempt to hurt your dog as this might only increase the pain it is feeling.
