African Grey
These parrots are medium sized and are usually of a greyish colour. Sometimes you will see this parrot with a red head. These parrots are the best of all parrots in speech. They can speak a variety of words and can imitate any sound with equal dexterity. It can not be guaranteed that a Grey will ever speak. Grey's have been known who never talked and did not even show signs of talking altogether. They are generally loud and screaming birds who need lots of attention from our side to become bonded to us. Once bonded, the bird will be loyal and will love you more than you can think possible.
Conure
These parrots are small sized and have very big tails attached to their bodies. They come is many different hues and are clever. They are great actors and love to be centre of attention. They learn quick on a variety of tasks. Getting these parrots to speak is possible if you train them. The down side of these parrots are that they are best suited for owners who can pay them a lot of attention and constantly accompany them; basically owners who spend most of their time at home.
This is because they need several hours of training every day to learn how to socialize, not bite the owner and correct behavioural defects. These birds like to screech a lot. Give them a lot of attention to prevent this.
Macaw
These parrots have been known to survive for about more than fifty years and knowing this you should be ready for a long relation with your bird. Get a big cage because this is a big parrot. Make sure you get this parrot a wide cage. This parrot does not like to be locked up all day so let it out of its cage as often as possible.
Having strong beaks will make this parrot bite a lot of stuff. Therefore you have to be careful they don't destroy your furniture. This parrot needs a selection of amusements, activities and toys in order to keep it happy.
Remember parrot training is important, never neglect your parrot or you could end up with parrot behaviour problems.
